Refund policy

Overview

At Keypoint Contracting, we want clients to feel confident when engaging us for contracting work. This policy explains how deposits, cancellations, and refunds are handled. It sits alongside your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)), and nothing in it limits those rights.

Deposits and Progress Payments

A deposit may be required before work begins, as set out in the written quote or contract. The deposit amount, any progress payment schedule, and the final payment are set out in the written quote or contract agreed before work begins.

Cancelling a Job

A client may cancel a quoted or scheduled job by giving at least 7 days' written notice by email. If a job is cancelled with less notice, or after work or materials ordering has started, we may charge for work completed, materials already purchased or ordered that cannot be returned, and reasonable costs incurred.

Refunds

Where a deposit has been paid but no work has started and no materials have been ordered on your behalf, you may request a refund within 14 days of payment. Once work has started, amounts for completed work and committed materials are non-refundable, and any remaining unearned balance will be refunded.

Approved refunds are returned via the original payment method and can take 5 to 10 business days to appear, depending on your bank or payment provider.

Defects and Unsatisfactory Work

If you believe completed work is defective or does not match the agreed scope, please notify us in writing as soon as possible, with photos where practical. We will inspect the work and, where a defect is confirmed, arrange to rectify it within a reasonable time. Residential building work in New South Wales is also subject to the statutory warranties under the Home Building Act 1989 (NSW).
